Serbia's household debt accounted for 19.7 % of the country's Nominal GDP in Dec 2016, compared with the ratio of 18.8 % in the previous year. Serbia's household debt to GDP ratio is updated yearly, available from Dec 1999 to Dec 2016. The data reached an all-time high of 19.7 % in Dec 2016 and a record low of 0.6 % in Dec 2001. CEIC calculates Household Debt as % of Nominal GDP from annual Household Debt and annual Nominal GDP. The National Bank of Serbia provides Household Debt in local currency. The Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia provides Nominal GDP in local currency. Loans are used due to the lack of Flow of Funds statistics.

In the latest reports, Serbia's Household Debt reached 8.9 USD bn in Aug 2017. Money Supply M2 in Serbia increased 13.2 % YoY in Aug 2017. Serbia's Foreign Exchange Reserves was measured at 11.3 USD bn in Aug 2017. The Foreign Exchange Reserves equaled 6.3 Months of Import in Aug 2017. Serbia's Domestic Credit reached 23.2 USD bn in Aug 2017, representing an increased of 1.4 % YoY. The country's Non Performing Loans Ratio stood at 16.8 % in Mar 2017, compared with the ratio of 17.0 % in the previous quarter.
