The Central Bank of Malta provides Foreign Exchange Reserves in EUR. National Statistics Office-Malta provides Imports in EUR. Malta joined the Euro Area on January 1st, 2008 with fixed conversion rate of 1 EUR = 0.4293 MTL. This explains the drop in foreign currency and total reserve assets. Total Imports (not just extra-Eurozone) have been used. Foreign Exchange Reserves prior to May 2004 is sourced from the International Monetary Fund.
