Infrastructure includes land, permanent way constructions, buildings, bridges and tunnels, as well as immovable fixtures, fitting and installations connected with them (signalisation, telecommunications, catenaries, electricity sub-stations, toll collection installations, navigation locks, mooring equipment, etc.) as opposed to rolling stock or road vehicles or inland waterways vessels. [COVERAGE] Data include the cost of construction, extension and reconstruction (e.g. expansion and modernisation), as well as the renovation of facilities and acquisition of machinery/equipment in order to increase their initial value. Data include spending from the public and private sectors. Since 2005, data do not include investment of small business entities. TOTAL INLAND INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT Until 2003, road infrastructure expenses do not include investment in urban motorways. Since 2004, road infrastructure expenses include investment in public motorways operation services as well as investment in operation services for motorways structures (e.g. bridges, tunnels). Since 2005, road infrastructure expenses include investment in urban roads. [STAT_CONC_DEF] Until 2004, data refer to the branch of the economy 'railway transport', 'highway economy' (without data on intraurban roads) and 'inland water transport'. Between 2005 and 2016, data refer to OKVED 2007 (NACE Rev 1.1) 60.1 - activity of railway transport, 63.21.22 - operation of public roads, 63.21.23 - operation of road facilities (including data on intraurban roads) and 61.2 - activity of inland waterway transport. Since 2017, data refer to OKVED 2 (NACE Rev. 2) 49.10 - rail transportation: intercity and international passenger transportation, 49.20 - activity of railroad transport: freight transportation, 52.21.22 - operation of roads and motorways, 52.21.23 - operation of bridges and tunnels, 50.30 - inland passenger water transport and 50.40 - inland freight water transport.
