United States: Retail Sales

The US retail sales in September 2019 remained solid and trended upward since the beginning of the year, with total amount of USD 525.6bn, or 4.1% y/y, compared to the same month of the previous year.

This increase reflected growth in the sales of automobiles and motor vehicles and parts (5.6% y/y), home building materials (0.66% y/y), food stores (3.85% y/y) and personal care stores (2.88% y/y), partly offset by a fall in gasoline retail sales.
