Supported by strong global demand, China’s export grew by 25.6% y/y in August, accelerating from the 19.3% y/y in July, revealing the strength of China’s export.

This came after that the continued downward trend of the new export order subindex under the official PMI survey raised concerns over China’s export growth. China’s import growth also surged in August, growing by 33.1% y/y in dollar terms. The value of imports reached USD 236bn in August, the highest level ever.
