Brazil’s producer prices grow by 36.8% y/y in June

Producer prices' growth in the Brazilian industrial sector accelerated in June, as the Producer Price Index (PPI) rose by 36.8% y/y, which is 1pp higher than in May.

Among the segments, the extractive industry recorded the highest increase (+115.6% y/y) followed by coke, petroleum products & biofuels (+76.6% y/y), metallurgy (+55.3% y/y), and other chemical products (+54% y/y). In 2021, the industrial producer inflation stood at 19.1% y/y until June.
