Brazil's economy added 280,666 formal jobs in May
The Brazilian economy added 280,666 formal jobs in May, as the number of hires (1.55mn) exceeded the number of dismissals (1.27mn). According to the Ministry of Economy, which publishes the data, all the five groups of economic activities created jobs in the month.
Notably, the services sector recorded a net gain of 110,956 formal jobs in May, followed by trade activities (+60,480), the general industry (+42,146), the agriculture (+42,526) and the construction (+22,611).
