ドイツ 鉱工業生産 2021年2月以来の年間最大の減少を記録

Germany's industrial production index (IPI) stood at 93.6 in December 2021 compared to 103.7 in the previous month. This translates into a decline of 4.1% y/y compared to a 2.2% y/y drop in November 2021. This is the biggest annual decrease since February 2021.
Motor vehicles production in Euro Area's biggest economy was again the biggest driver of the decline, dropping by 13.9% y/y. Nonetheless, this is a moderation compared to the 23.1% y/y plunge in November. Automobile production has been posting negative annual changes since June. Notably, during the last three years, the respective IPI indicator was positive only from March to May 2021, with the increases back then mostly due to the low-base effect.
In December 2021, the another sub-indicator with a double-digit decline was the construction (-13.7% y/y). Durable consumer goods go back to positive territory after a one-month break to increase by 3.6% y/y, the highest rate in the breakdowns.
Germany's industrial production declined also on a monthly basis: by 0.3% m/m in December 2021 compared to a revised growth of 0.3% m/m in November, measured by both seasonally and working day adjusted data. The construction exhibits the largest drop (-7.3% m/m). On the other hand, durable consumer goods outperform, increasing by 4.6% m/m.
