Economic sentiment in the Euro Area dropped to 117.5 in August 2021 from the record high 119 registered in July.

Economic sentiment in the Euro Area dropped to 117.5 in August 2021

This was the first time since January 2021 when the index recorded a month-on-month decline. The moderation of economic sentiment was brought on by increasing inflationary pressures and another surge in COVID-19 infections across the continent.
