China’s Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), published by the National Bureau of Statistics, stood at 51.9 in December 2020, experiencing a slight drop of 0.2 pp compared to November’s figure, staying above the 50 threshold. The PMI for small enterprises, however, was below the 50 threshold again, signalling continued pressure for those businesses.
