Mexico’s manufacturing business confidence continues to deteriorate, albeit at a slower pace. The index, published by Mexico’s Central Bank declined by 3.21% y/y in February 2020. The decrease in the previous month was 3.45%. On a monthly basis, however, the indicator crawled up to 98.13 from 97.32 in January 2019.

The manufacturing business confidence index has been recording negative changes since July 2019, when it plunged by more than 13% y/y. In October 2019 the indicator bottomed out apparently, registering its steepest decline since 2008. Afterwards it followed and upward pattern, albeit still in negative territory.
