Many companies voluntarily decided to stop production in order to prevent COVID-19 infections among factory workers and due to the shortage of parts, as Chinese suppliers reduced their production as well. Further, registrations of new vehicles plunged by 76% y/y to 55,735 in April 2020, the lowest figure in 21 years.
