Brazil’s industrial capacity utilisation rate stood at 81.6% in May, seasonally adjusted, after reaching a seven-year high of 81.9% in April. According to the National Confederation of Industry, which provides the data, the local manufacturing activity fell in May, as the number of worked hours in production declined by 1.8% m/m.
However, total revenue on manufacturing expanded by 0.7% m/m above inflation, seasonally adjusted, and the number of workers in industrial companies rose by 0.5% m/m, the tenth increase in a row.
