The current account in Brazil registered a surplus of USD 202mn in November, the fourth surplus in a row, compared to a deficit of USD 3.1bn one year earlier. The trade surplus remained stable on an annual basis, as imports and exports recovered to the same levels as in November 2019.
Lower expenditures on travel and transportation reduced the deficit in services, while the lower global demand had a negative impact on companies’ profits, reducing the primary income deficit to USD 1bn in November 2020, from USD 3.9bn one year earlier.
