Tax revenue collected by Brazil's federal government rose by 25.7% y/y, in nominal terms, to BRL 137.9bn in March, as the increased economic activity in February had a positive impact on corporate taxes’ revenues in the third month of 2021.

In addition, according to the Secretariat of Federal Revenue, the government also reported that some big companies paid larger amount of taxes than usual. However, the central government’s revenues may decrease from April onwards, as the worsening of the COVID-19 pandemic in March may affect the next results of tax collection in Brazil.
