Brazil added 401,639 formal jobs in February
All the five groups of economic activities created jobs during this month.
The Brazilian labour market posted a net gain of 401,639 formal jobs in February, as the number of hires (1,694,604) exceeded the number of dismissals (1,292,965). According to the Ministry of Economy, which calculates the indicator, this is a 30-year high.
All the five groups of economic activities created jobs during this month. Notably, the services sector witnessed a net gain of 173,547 formal jobs in February, followed by the general industry (+93,621) and the trade sector (+68,051).
